Google Chrome lesson 12, Saving and printing pages

Saving pages

It may be usefull to look at some pages when you are not online.
To use this we need to save the page on our computer.
To save a webpage on our computer click on the wrench icon on the topright corner of the screen and choose "Save as" from the dropdown menu.
This will open a new window which will save the page.
Choose a folder on your computer where you want to save the page, in this case i choose to save it on the desktop (1), maybe you want to give a name to the file (2) and when your done click the "Save" button (3).

All files including the page will be saved where wanted to save it, in my case on the desktop.

Printing pages

To print a page we have two possibilities. First is to click the wrench icon on the topright corner of the screen and choose to "Print" from the dropdown menu.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + P
In both cases this will open a new window where you can choose the print settings.
Choose the printer that you want to use to print (1), choose the amount of copies you want, the color and the layout and when you are done click the "Print" button (2).

Pop-ups

We all know pop-ups, these are those ( mostly ) annoying windows that appear on your screen without you asking for it.
By default Google Chrome doesn't allow these pop-ups.
If you want to have some pop-ups for some reason you change activate this in your settings.
To do this click on the wrench icon on the topright corner and choose "Options" from the dropdown menu.
Click on the tab "Under the hood" and in the privacy area click on "Content settings".
A new window will now open where you need to go the area that says "Pop-ups".
You have three options here and by default "Do not allow any site to show pop-ups" (2) is active. This is not only recommended by Google Chrome but also by me.
If you want all websites that you visit to show you pop-ups if there are any click on "Allow all sites to show pop-ups" (1) although i cannot recommend you to do this.
If there are some websites you want to make a exeption for you need to click the "Manage exeptions" button (3).
In the window that will open you can enter urls in the textbox (4) and choose to "Allow" or "Block" a certain website. I assume you can figure out how this works.
