Google Chrome lesson 15, Downloads

Downloading files

When you want to download a files you need to click the link to the file you want to download in the page.
The download will now immediatly start.
This can be seen in the bottom left corner in the Google Chrome window (1).
When Google Chrome is done downloading the file it will mark the downloaded file with a green circle and will show a link in the bottom right corner of the window (2).

Clicking on the file will open it.

Clicking on the link will bring you to the "Downloads" tab.
In the downloads tab we can find a list will all downloaded files.
Beneath each file there are two links.
Clicking on the first "Show in folder" (1) will show the downloaded file in the folder where it is saved.
Clicking on the second "Remove from list" (2) will remove the downloaded file.

When you want to close the downloads ta just click on the red "X" on the rightside.
If you wish to open this tab at a later time you can use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + J" on your keyboard.

Managing downloads

When you want to change the location of the downloaded files you need to click on the wrench icon in the topright corner of Google Chrom and choose "Options" from the dropdown menu.
In the next window click on the tab "Under the hood" (1) and look at "Downloads" (2) section.
In the "Downloads" section we have two options.
If you check the first option (3) you can tell Google Chrome in which folder you want all downloaded files to go.
This will open a new window where you can select the folder where you want the files to be saved.
In the second option (4) Google Chrome will allways ask you where you want to save a file.
